Serving the home health, home care and hospice industry since 1999.
Overland Park, Kansas — 8-9-23 — Netsmart announced this week it has been recognized as the top overall, client-rated, post-acute technology platform by Black Book Market Research for the ninth year in a row. The Black Book reports for post-acute and home health polled more than 6,130 healthcare providers regarding client experience and satisfaction across more than 40 technology vendors serving the post-acute care community.
"Netsmart has consistently earned the highest customer experience ratings in the post-acute technology continuum for multiple years," stated Doug Brown, President and CEO of Black Book Market Research. "As the technology landscape expands with each passing year, Netsmart continues to lead the post-acute care industry by advancing their comprehensive platform. This ongoing development plays a pivotal role in optimizing client users' workflow, facilitating seamless patient coordination and providing critical digital capabilities necessary for success in the value-based care environment."
We spoke with post-acute division SVP & Managing Director, Dawn Iddings after receiving this announcement. One of the details she wanted to make clear is that Black Book does not accept customer lists from the companies it evaluates. "We never know who they interviewed," she assured us, "and they do not accept 'membership' payments from the companies they rate, unlike another rating service."
Black Book, which focuses exclusively on healthcare IT research, conducts vendor-neutral surveys that are verified and validated with internal and external audits to ensure response authenticity and integrity. This survey’s findings were based on responses from post-acute electronic health record (EHR), revenue cycle management (RCM) and practice management users spanning hospice organizations, palliative care, skilled nursing facilities, subacute units, short and long-term rehabilitation centers, home health agencies and senior living facilities. The survey polled customer satisfaction across 18 operational excellence key performance indicators based on the client experience.
In addition to the Number 1 Overall Client-Rated Post-Acute recognition, Netsmart earned number one rankings in:
Iddings also told us that Netsmart's myUnity® EHR earned ONC certification earlier this year, indicating they meet interoperability standards set by the federal Office of the National Coordinator of Health IT. By investing in ONC Certification, Netsmart enabled its hospice and palliative care customers to meet government compliance and succeed in value-based care programs.
"This one is an ongoing effort," she added, "because the certification standards advance every year and you have to keep up with them."
Netsmart's Behavioral Health EHR was also recognized, for the seventh year, by Black Book as the Top Overall Client-Rated Practice Management & RCM Vendor, and secured top rankings for inpatient psychiatric facilities, outpatient providers and physicians, human services and government agencies, population health and analytics technology, interoperability and care coordination categories.
"The Black Book rankings distinguish high-quality solutions and services across healthcare vendors," said Iddings. "Working with our clients these past few years, we have made significant advancements in our myUnity platform to help drive our clients' success and satisfaction. This award recognition speaks volumes to the feedback and responses of our end-users and the value of a single platform."
