New CEO began home care career as a personal care aide.
Savii Care, a supplier of private duty home care software solutions and mobile platforms, announced this week that it is set to expand following a change in leadership and significant investment from its new owners, H.A.S. Technology Group.
New CEO Kristen Duell has more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry, starting at the bottom of the job ladder and working her way to the top. "Getting this opportunity to redefine what it means to be a technology partner and deliver a solution built on the latest technologies is an honor that I am truly excited about," she told us. "The support, experience and solutions that H.A.S. brings to Savii will enable us to deliver solutions that our industry has been craving for years."
"Selecting Kristen to run our U.S. business was an obvious choice because of her experience, tenure and tenacious drive,” said Mick Crosthwaite, executive chairman of H.A.S.
We spoke with Ms. Duell shortly before the news was released. Hers is an American Dream story. Introduced to home care on the ground floor as a Personal Care Aide, she was sold, always finding ways to stay within the home care sector as new opportunities came her way. From direct care, she entered the home care technology side, winning ever higher sales and marketing positions with Sandata, CM2000, and Kanrad Technologies. She played a central role in the introduction of Savii's founding team to its new owners and will now spearhead the company's growth plans as CEO.
"Staff turnover is a huge problem for agencies," she told us. "Many technology companies believe they can drive agency improvement but don't address how their tech affects the caregivers. My direct experience and leadership in the post-acute industry enables me to look at our clients with a wider lens while driving technology from an innovative and intuitive point of view."
With an aging demographic profile and increased life expectancy, there is continued growth in the demand for cost-effective post-acute care delivered in people’s homes. Unlike the plethora of software companies servicing the post-acute market space, Savii has built an easy-to-use app-based solution suitable for use on any device, regardless of platform.
Duell explains, "Using their existing tech and mobile devices, agencies can set up the solution with minimal cost, allowing them to focus on recruitment as well as retention. Savii Care is unmatched across the sector and offers a significant competitive advantage with its ability to simplify our complex healthcare industry. The solution itself is focused on improving the quality of care, driving efficiencies and increasing profitability and has been particularly successful in reducing staff turnover by empowering caregivers with the latest mobile technology to carry out their role more effectively."
"Savii offers a unique product in a rapid growth market. H.A.S. Technology Group businesses have 20 years of experience in successfully supplying market-leading agency management solutions to thousands of satisfied clients around the globe. On the back of this experience and new investment, we will be able to provide Savii with significant leverage, helping the company grow," comments Crosthwaite.
