Volume 11, Number 22 — September 6, 2022
Dear Healthcare at Home Colleague,
Welcome to this special edition of The Rowan Report. We will have a full issue after we return from Lincoln Health Leadership's Home Care Technology conference in National Harbor Maryland. But we are rushing this limited edition out to you because we just completed recording Episode Two of our series of conversations with Lindsay Doak, lead researcher for BerryDunn. As you know, BerryDunn collected over 400,000 data points with a questionnaire that many of you completed earlier this year. It is titled, "The National Healthcare at Home Best Practices Study," and the analysis of your responses will continue for some time.
In Episode Two of our series, Lindsay focused on staffing, including some findings that were only completed the day before we recorded our interview.
Home Health, Home Care, and Hospice providers need this information. She identified direct correlations between the number of unfilled clinical positions and patient satisfaction, CMS star ratings, clinician retention, and agency profit margin. The numbers are both enlightening and astounding.
So, join us for 20 minutes or so, and be prepared to take notes. For those who prefer to read instead of watch, Lindsay gives the URL of the complete report, which is free thanks to the study's many sponsors, including NAHC, NHPCO, the NAHC Forum of State Associations, LeadingAge, HCAOA, and the Council of State Home Care and Hospice Associations.
