Volume 10, Number 41 July  7, 2021

Dear Healthcare at Home Colleague,

What a whirlwind of activity! June did not come close to being the lazy summer month we used to look forward to. I have much to tell you about this week, so let me get right to it.

This organization wants to share its HRSA grant money with you!

The National Minority Health Association won a grant from HHS and the Health Resources & Services Administration by proposing a plan to reward home health and home care agencies for helping to get more people to take a COVID vaccine. We ran the details in our last issue, and now the NMHA is ready to accept participating agencies. In summary: for every patient or client who uploads proof of vaccination to the grant web site, one payment per shot goes to that person, to the in-home worker who told them about the web site, and to the agency that employs that worker. So the patient can earn a little, your worker can earn quite a bit, and your agency can earn a lot.

This organization needs your wisdom

It has been a while, but the study once known as the National State of the Industry Survey is back. It is being conducted by BerryDunn and will be called Healthcare at Home 2021 Best Practices and Future Insights Study. The study returns with some familiar sponsors, including six national and regional associations and two vendors, HealthPivots and Delta Health Technologies. Participate in the survey and receive exclusive access to an interactive portal with detailed benchmarks and insights that can be segmented by size, outcomes, and other filters. See our lead article below, "Major Themes Announced for Healthcare at Home 2021 Best Practices and Future Insights Study" for links and email addresses to participate.

This organization hosted an insightful conference

This year's Homecare 100 gathering featured presentations and panel discussions with executives from our industry's largest provider companies, from investment funds and M&A consultants, and from new, innovative technology companies. Over the next few issues, we will share what we learned, starting with this week's summary of the comments by the CEOs and other leadership from Amedisys, Home Instead, BrightSpring Health Services, and Elara Caring. Do not miss the highlighted sidebar embedded in this piece. It details NAHC's effort to push a bill through Congress that could mean major additional payments to Home Health. Bill Dombi and company urgently need you to learn about the "Choose Home" initiative and contact your Representatives and Senators.

Vendor Watch

Our sponsors sent us two big announcements this week. Homecare Homebase announced a closer relationship with longtime partner Medalogix. The two have built an integration that allows data to flow freely from the HCHB EMR, PointCare, and the data analysis science company's Medalogix Care.

Vivify sent us a new whitepaper to share with you, "Keys to Building a Successful Remote Patient Monitoring Program." It is a provider roadmap that outlines critical steps — from technology integration to partnership best practices — when launching an RPM program. Speaking of Vivify, we will be continuing our "Meet the CEO" video interview series next week with Vivify founder and CEO Eric Rock.

Have a great week. Keep making a difference!
