As you read this on Wednesday morning, June 17, American Telemedicine Association president Dr. Joseph Kvedar will be testifying before the Senate committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP). His goal is to convince lawmakers that the temporary relaxing of restrictions on telehealth use during the pandemic should be made permanent because the benefits are so strong.

We received an advance copy of Dr. Kvedar's testimony and have published it in this weeks issue. His words are passionate, his statistics are convincing, and his reasoning is virtually inarguable. If he is successful, post-acute care will benefit along with hospitals and physicians. Our report also features a link to a white paper penned by Senator Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, titled "Preparing for the Next Pandemic." Alexander is the chair of the HELP committee.
