Dear Healthcare at Home Colleague,

I am moving our "Worth the Trip" feature to the top this week because there are several events worthy of your attention. For the full details, scroll down to our "Upcoming Events" section at the bottom of this page. Here is what you will find there:

WORTH THE TRIP FOR HOME CARE PROVIDERS

Next Wednesday, June 24, Savii will present a free webinar: "What Your Plumber Knows That You Don't: 21 Dangers of Ignoring Online Marketing"
Roger McManus, MBA, and I will teach attendees how to leverage the billion dollar infrastructure that Google, Bing, Yahoo, and others have built for you to use for free. Your prospective clients and their adult children do read your reviews before they call you. We will present 21 reasons you must pay attention to your online reputation. Join us at 2:00 EDT on the 24th.

WORTH THE TRIP FOR HOME HEALTH AND HOSPICE PROVIDERS

The next day, Thursday, June 25, HealthRev Partners, a revenue cycle management consulting firm, will begin a 3-part webinar series: "COVID-19 Forum: How Coronavirus is Reshaping the Future of Home Health and Hospice."
I will serve as the moderator for a star-studded panel of experts. A large-scope topic, we will cover it in three sessions, all at 2:00 EDT:
June 25 — Patient Care (beneficial for private duty providers as well)
July 9 — Financial Operations
July — Agency Leadership and Operations

Panelists for the first session will be:

The two July sessions will feature more agency owners, financial consultants, and of course HealthRev Partners' founder and CEO, Michael Greenlee.

TELEHEALTH IN THE NEWS

As you read this on Wednesday morning, June 17, American Telemedicine Association president Dr. Joseph Kvedar will be testifying before the Senate committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP). His goal is to convince lawmakers that the temporary relaxing of restrictions on telehealth use during the pandemic should be made permanent because the benefits are so strong.

We received an advance copy of Dr. Kvedar's testimony and have published it in this weeks issue. His words are passionate, his statistics are convincing, and his reasoning is virtually inarguable. If he is successful, post-acute care will benefit along with hospitals and physicians. Our report also features a link to a white paper penned by Senator Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, titled "Preparing for the Next Pandemic." Alexander is the chair of the HELP committee.

The postponed ATA annual conference will take place online next week. Details here: americantelemed.org/events/ata2020

Do you test your employees every day for COVID-19 symptoms? One northern Nevada healthcare group does. Read about a new app from Vivify that has made it easy and cost-effective for them to know every day who has symptoms and who does not. See our interview with the agency's Chief Nursing Supervisor, below.

Staff writer Darcey Trescone offers a detailed report this week on technologies for coping with the COVID-19 pandemic. Her article, "COVID-19 Forces Tech Innovation and Digital Readiness," dovetails nicely with Dr. Kvedar's congressional testimony.

Once again, I hope you will join me next week, private duty providers on Wednesday and both private duty and Medicare providers on Thursday.

Have a great week. Keep making a difference!

Free Webinar: Carpe Diem: Now is the Ideal Time to Excavate Your Brand Genius

A complimentary webinar & roundtable discussion for executive business leaders

Featuring: Mary Maloney

Date: September 11
Time: 12:00 - 12:45 EDT

Now more than ever we need leaders ready to own a new world narrative - those who are brave enough to strategically position and message their voice in the marketplace from a deeper perspective of purpose that connects directly to what lights them up (their brand genius).

Many leaders confess that they have forgotten their greatness or feel lost in a sea of sameness, amongst a fiercely competitive set. They say they struggle with what words will resonate or feel “salesy” when asked, “What do you do?”

Thanks to the pace of technology, we have less than seconds to connect, therefore, it’s no longer all about what you do for a living and the quantifiable goals you achieved;  it’s much more about what you stand for, the legacy you want to leave and building trust expeditiously with your tribe.

If 82% of people make buying decisions based on emotion (Capgemini), what emotive messages are you sending?

This webinar will start you on your journey to deliberately make your personal brand come alive.
