Volume 9, Number 44 March  18, 2020

Dear Healthcare at Home Colleague,

Kudos to James Cohen, founder and CEO of Nevvon, an online education service. He announced late last week that he has developed COVID-19 courses and is making them absolutely free. He is also offering deep discounts on all other Nevvon courses to offset costs for home care agencies who decide to do their in-service online. He told us, "This is the time to keep your caregivers safe and your census safe. Limit physical interactions when you could do it remotely."

Our lead story this week details COVID-19 measures and recommendations from leading technology vendors. We found a half dozen or so with some helpful tools, such as screening question for patient intake, and added a list of telehealth companies with quick implementation cycles. NAHC has partnered with other national associations to petition CMS and Congress for a long list of regulatory relief measures. Our survey lists some of the demands and gives a web site where you can read the rest. Click below on "Home Health Tech Vendors Make COVID-19 Adjustments." (These companies are going the extra mile for you. Please show your gratitude and do me a favor by clicking on their graphic ads on this page. They may be offering exactly what you need.)

Here's something you might not have considered

Have you been ordered to work at home? Is your little home Wi-Fi router completely secure? We gathered some advice from cyber security experts and pulled together a primer on steps you should take if you are dealing with patient information at home. Your home network could be far more secure than it is now; you just have to know how to protect it. Click below on "Working From Home? Is Your Router Safe From Intruders?"

Though HIMSS was canceled last week, we kept most of our scheduled exhibit booth appointments by phone. This week, we feature two companies that want home health, home care, and hospice to gravitate toward electronic document delivery. Their solutions are slightly different from each other but they agree on one thing, the best place to locate a fax machine. You'll have to read the article to find the answer. Server-based fax, SMS messages, patient queries to Commonwell, are all faster, more secure, and less expensive than fax machines. Our story "It Is Time to Retire Your Fax Machine," will show you how to accelerate your physician signature collecting while improving patient care.

Worth the Trip

As you peruse our list of upcoming events toward the bottom of this page, keep in mind all of them, except the webinars of course, are subject to cancellation or postponement. It is a good idea to check each web site before making travel plans.

All of us hope your office and in-home workers remain safe during the current pandemic challenge. For what it's worth, our technology and operational consultants are available if there is anything we can do for you. We will continue to deliver information as often as we get it. Things are changing rapidly but we will try to keep on top of the relevant news for you.

Have a safe, healthy week. Keep making a difference!

Free Webinar: Carpe Diem: Now is the Ideal Time to Excavate Your Brand Genius

A complimentary webinar & roundtable discussion for executive business leaders

Featuring: Mary Maloney

Date: September 11
Time: 12:00 - 12:45 EDT

Now more than ever we need leaders ready to own a new world narrative - those who are brave enough to strategically position and message their voice in the marketplace from a deeper perspective of purpose that connects directly to what lights them up (their brand genius).

Many leaders confess that they have forgotten their greatness or feel lost in a sea of sameness, amongst a fiercely competitive set. They say they struggle with what words will resonate or feel “salesy” when asked, “What do you do?”

Thanks to the pace of technology, we have less than seconds to connect, therefore, it’s no longer all about what you do for a living and the quantifiable goals you achieved;  it’s much more about what you stand for, the legacy you want to leave and building trust expeditiously with your tribe.

If 82% of people make buying decisions based on emotion (Capgemini), what emotive messages are you sending?

This webinar will start you on your journey to deliberately make your personal brand come alive.
