Dear Healthcare at Home Colleague,

I am pleased to invite you to my next free webinar. I will be hosting the CEO of MiliMatch so he can describe in his own words the onboarding technology that captured your attention when I wrote an article introducing them in my January 6 edition. As everyone in home care knows, caregiver recruiting and retention is always mentioned in your top three business challenges. CEO Eric Becker will explain the science of Applied Cognitive Linguistics on February 18 at 2:00 EST, focusing on how his clients have drastically reduced the number of new hires who disappear after orientation and training, costing you about $4,500. Mark your calendar; I'll publish the registration link next week.

I am also happy to present the latest episode in my "Meet the CEO" video podcast series. Adrian Schauer is the CEO and co-founder of AlayaCare. His insights into what is coming for home care in the next 12 months need to be heard by all. It will be 20 minutes well spent. I've published both video and audio-only versions for your convenience.

I was surprised to learn from a recent survey that 74 percent of home care and home health workers (present company excluded) did not know what a Sales CRM is. In the unlikely event you are in that demographic, see our primer on this software category, courtesy of home care veterans David Cole and Tony Onaissi, by clicking on the headline below.

With the new administration comes new leadership at the Department of Health and Human Services. We gathered all we could find about interim CMS administrator Liz Richter for you.

Workforce Management is an issue for every HR department. We profile New York-based CareConnect this week as they prepare to take their desktop and mobile app nationwide after making an early splash in their home state with EMR integrations and a major contract with VNSNY'S Partners in Care.

In our Vendor Watch column we feature three tech companies with big announcements. Netsmart has acquired GPM, MatrixCare won Best in KLAS in its category for the second time, and Amity Healthcare Group has been approved for administrator training.

As a follow-up to last week's introduction of the National Minority Health Association, we reprint an announcement about the first software vendor to accept their invitation to become a member.

We are excited to introduce our new advertiser this week. Vivify Health is a remote patient monitoring technology company. Click on their graphic below to learn why they are gaining so much attention lately, especially as an in-home care solution during the pandemic.

Parting Thought

How badly has the lingering pandemic hurt our industry, particularly the tech companies that support our industry's healthcare providers? To a certain extent publications like ours are a barometer of that harm. In good economic times, we are supported by more sponsors; when things are tough, advertising is often one of the first budget cuts. Observant readers may notice that a few of our regular sponsors are missing since January 1. I'm wondering if a few tech companies are suffering a bit. Just a thought.

Have a great week. Stay masked; stay apart. Keep making a difference!
