Volume 9, Number 50 — February 26, 2020
Dear Healthcare at Home Colleague,
Hello, Private Duty home care providers, we received late notice of a free webinar, sponsored by SaviiCare, you may want to jump onto today. Scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on the title "How Money Moves in Home Care." It starts at noon Eastern. Our friends at Savii say it will be well worth your time to attend.
In this week's news: Let's talk about interoperability. Your skilled nursing patients and non-medical clients do better when your caregivers and clinicians enjoy bi-directional communication with hospitals and physicians. But your people also interact with Meals on Wheels, community centers, adult day care centers, even recidivism programs and food banks. Read about the group in Dallas that has developed a software communication system that keeps case managers and all caregivers informed about all these touch points. Click below on "Connected Communities of Care Transforms Healthcare in Dallas."

Vendor Watch
We have five news items involving our sector's tech vendors this week. Scroll down and click on Vendor Watch to read about Casamba, eSolutions, Synzi, CareTime, and the very interesting charity that drew the attention of the WellSky Foundation.
Worth the Trip
Not many people from our sector attend HIMSS conferences, with good reason. Keynotes, breakouts, and exhibitors are mostly oriented toward hospitals and physicians. I attend most years, however, because the technologies I find there do eventually make their way into post-acute care, with the emphasis on "eventually." If you do plan to be in Orlando, look for me among the other 39,999 attendees.
Have a great week. Keep making a difference!

Date: Tuesday, January 12
Time: 2:00 pm EST
With small margins in home care it has prompted the question, “Can we collect cash faster?” And what would this do for an agency? One thing we know is margins are small and have become more challenging than ever to for agencies to profit. This doesn’t mean it impossible for agencies to survive; it means a focus on collecting cash faster will be ever so important.
Agency leaders will first need to develop a timeline cadence of when to address claims based on when they were submitted for payment. In addition it will be pertinent to understand their own agency metrics such as DSO (Daily Sales Outstanding) and how they compare to industry standards.
On this webinar you will walk away with how to develop a timeline and your own DSO dashboard for benchmarking. All of these topics will weave into strategic steps to take toward collecting cash flow faster.
