Volume 10, Number 14 — February 17, 2021
Dear Healthcare at Home Colleague,
Thursday, February 18 is the day of the webinar I have been telling you about, "New, Science-Based Methodology Reduces Cost of Recruitment and Retention." I am certain every reader, especially personal care agency owners, will benefit from this new technology. CEO Eric Becker of MiliMatch will share the results of early trials that have proven this patented technology increases both identification of likely successful new caregivers and long-term retention of veterans. Before I get into this week's news, I would like to strongly recommend a new document by the CDC, on vaccinating homebound persons. It is lengthy so we are just giving you the link here instead of recreating it on our web site.

What about when a hospice nurse loses a loved one and comes to hospice from the other side? We are always excited to share the wisdom of highly respected hospice consultant Barbara Karnes, RN. This time she responds with great compassion to a hospice nurse's concerns about not being able to get her heart back into the work after her father's death. Scroll down and click on the headlines for both of these stories.
The RAND Corporation released a study we thought you would find enlightening. They looked at the use of remote patient monitoring technologies during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic and saw a surprising pattern. See "RAND Survey Finds Value in Phone-Only Telehealth."
