Dear Healthcare at Home Colleague,

Thank you for your generous response to my announcement that my first book has been released. "Entrepreneurial Insanity in the Home Care Business" is selling well and I have already received a number of positive comments from readers who have begun to read it. It is packed with guidance for business owners and you can order your own copy for $19.95 by clicking here.

While I am on the subject of blatant self-promotion, perhaps you would oblige me one more announcement. Over the past year or so, I have been teaching you how important it is to nurture your online reputation. You know I have developed a service you can subscribe to for a couple hundred dollars a month that helps you move your agency toward the top of Google business searches, the number one way to get your phone to ring, both from patients or their families and from that superstar nurse looking for a better job. I can certify today that my "Home Care Reviews Accelerator" works!

One of my earliest testers, Benefit Home Health Care in Colorado Springs, could not be found earlier than Google's page 11 when we met them (does anyone ever go beyond Google page one?). Today, they have more reviews on their Google business listing than any other local agency, they almost always appear in the top three of a Google search, their census is up, and last week they were awarded "Best in Springs" by a local business recognition organization. That group explains that it awards "companies that have shown the ability to use best practices and have implemented programs to generate competitive advantages and long-term value." Congratulations Ben Van Batum and team. To learn how to generate your own competitive advantage, go to RowanReputationResource.com. One additional referral could cover the cost of the system for a year.

In This Week's News: We offer four news articles this week but there could have been four more. Barring more breaking news releases, we will complete our summary of Lincoln Health's Post Acute Link conference in next week's issue. For now, be sure to study our first report from last week's Chicago gathering, titled "Care Coordination Moves to the Front Row." The insights about winning preferred partnerships with health systems and ACOs from the elite panel Lincoln assembled are nuggets of gold. The article could have covered many pages but we know you are busy so it takes the form of bullet points, each one an idea that brought success to at least one of the panelists.

We wrote about ClinLogica when former HealthWyse executive and co-founder Andrew Braunstein unveiled it at our Thrive conference in 2014, and again when it was judged Best of Show at a 2015 Lincoln Health event. Last week in Chicago, the company -- no longer able to be described as a startup venture -- announced a formal collaboration with Simione Healthcare Consultants. We sat down with Braunstein and the head of Simione's clinical consultant team, Julia Maroney, RN, and can bring you the story that goes beyond their published news release.

Are you still waiting for reimbursement before you take the home telehealth plunge? Our Audrey Kinsella has been following the progress of Senate Bill 870, cleverly named CHRONIC (an acronym too long and convoluted to repeat here; you'll have to read the article). It sailed through the Senate finance committee and is waiting for a floor vote before it goes to the House.

Lastly, in Vendor Watch, be sure to read about the new care coordination system introduced this month by HEALTHCAREfirst.

Entrepreneurial Insanity in Home Care

Have a great week. Keep making a difference! And don't forget my $5 coupon (KH54XYT9) if you order my book here.
