BREAKING NEWS - NETSMART ACQUIRES CHANGE HEALTHCARE

Back when they were known as Misys/Allscripts and McKesson, these companies were market leaders and intense rivals. As of today, they are one. Netsmart, which acquired Allscripts Home Care and Hospice in April, 2016, announced today that it has completed an agreement to acquire the Home Care and Hospice division of Change Healthcare, based in Springfield, Missouri.

This news has just broken and we wanted to get it to you as soon as possible. We will speak with leadership at both companies later today for additional comment.

The home care and hospice industry is increasingly competitive. The shift from “volume” to “value” means that agencies must increasingly focus on quality outcomes and prove their “worth” to customers and referral sources alike.  Agencies must have a robust quality program in place that identifies, tracks, and trends key metrics against agency goals.  Successful agencies not only have visibility into their current performance, but they continually modify and develop new strategies for improvement, while engaging their clinicians.
